The Gaslight Anthem

I FREAKING LOVE THE GASLIGHT ANTHEM.
I've liked them a lot for awhile now, but I recently picked up their first album, Sink or Swim, and just completely fell in love with them. They are by far THE classiest punk band I've ever come across. I loooove their guitar parts; I think their lead player is incredibly tasteful. I loooove their focus on 1930s-1960s
American love stories; it warms my heart and makes me love being American. And I just looove their passion and rawness. Seriously, everything about this band is amazing. You kind of just have to listen to them to get it all. Ughhhh, why u so good?!?!?!
This music video is the first one I saw of theirs. It's for "The '59 Sound" off their second album by the same name. Enjoy!

Everything

A Cursive Memory is a band I came across back in, oh, 2008ish. They became semi-popular when MTV started regularly airing this video. Back in '08, emo was still popular and hadn't completely changed/faded into another genre (as much as I hate to say, I attribute this to the fizzling out of Fuse, the TV channel, not airing this stuff anymore--therefore making MTV have no real competition to air this stuff either). That's not to say that I think A Cursive Memory is totally emo...I'd say moreso pop punk with emo tendencies (hello Brand New...)
Btw, no shame, Fuse, but I'm still sad. You were my place, man. Oh, emo...I miss you so. Please come back.
I love this song a whole bunch...I like singing it to Jesus. :)

Angels & Airwaves

Lately, I've been on a bit of an Angels & Airwaves kick and man...it's been awesome. I forgot how much I loved them and how excellent they are...
In general, they're fantastic musicians. Spiritually, they blow my mind. I feel like I'm such an inspiration junkie sometimes and these guys stand in the leagues of U2 for me in inspiring me when I hang out with Jesus. Even before I really had much of a relationship with Him, I can remember sitting in my room when their first CD, We Don't Need to Whisper came out and just being totally taken away to some place else. Their music is transcendent and now always gets me dreaming with Jesus, chilling with my Lover, and just being me. It's the best thing and my favorite thing ever. So any band that can provide an atmosphere that helps perpetuate that...just...good. So good. Mucho kudos to these guys, and for Tom DeLonge for being bold enough to do something like this regardless of how "unpunk" it seems. You go, dude, for following your dreams and listening to your heart. Personally, I like it better than blink-182...to each his own!
This video off that first album is for their first single as well, "The Adventure." The song is boss and I just think this video is super pretty and well done. It brings back so many great memories and feelings watching it. Enjoy!

Brian Shilts & the High Country River Drinkers

This guy... I've been blessed enough to worship with Him once or twice in Avon, Indiana and it was awesome. His band, though, is technically from Fort Wayne, Indiana, which is right close to me in Huntington now! This album seriously is a big chunk of my soul manifested. I love love love like everything about this EP they recently just put out in December I believe, Legendary Lovers EP. It's perfect, of course!! Haha, Jesus is so good with His Holy Spirit and Father so much all the time. I love Him and these people that He's made. So good! This song is called "Mighty Work" and it is a mighty work of art.
